DESCRIPTION

In the EU Grundtvig project named "Memory Boxes: a garden of Reminiscence" 2012-2014 the Italian delegation presented in Kedainiai the results of the questionnaire we submitted online in FB asking people to answer to 8 simple questions about their childhood and the memories related with it. Questionnaire was presented 2 times in Lithuania and Reggio di Calabria.

8 questions were sent on FB on 12.12.2012 at 15:15

In this period of December 2012 Prometeo submitted online the questionnaire with the main 8 questions that we decided to ask to people

We sent the questionnaire online via Facebook for 43, and via email to 178 different addresses, total = 221

Lay in a hill, play football (4), meeting friends (2), first embarassing situation, canoing, lay on the beach, my grandmother’s garden (4), in the nature with animals (2), videogames

1. When you think about your childhood what images/scenes come to your

mind ? The best description is :I was waiting for my father after his work every

afternoon at the end of the street we lived. Then I sat in his lap in the car and I steered the car; We were at a lake in summer holidays and we

lived in tents, no other people around, it wasn't a known place in that time. (We usually went with

3-4 families together.) In the evenings men played card, and my father let me to handle the

coins and in the meantime I learnt to play card. 3 words come in my mind when I remember for

this: calm, carefree, paradise

The dog because afraid of thunder, paddle, sand (2), salty North sea, a fish, chocolate, snow, hot oven door, little ducks, Christmas tree, pure silk, stones made by polystyrene, soil

2. Which kind of object have you ever touched left the strongest feelings in

you ? The best description is :

The most vivid memories I have of the sense of touch is of a piece of candy dipped in sand

that my neighbour put in my mouth. The sand in my teeth is what I remember feeling. It was a very negative occasion. I had asked

her to share her candy and she said she would: then she told me to open my mouth

and close my eyes. I felt betrayed.

My parents used to play a lot of classical music. On Sunday mornings when it was time to get up for church, my Dad would turn the music up very

loud, to get us out of bed.

with your childhood or your past ? The

best

Carrot sauce & lunch in the kindergarten (I didn’t eat this meal, and I don't eat it now

either); cakes & lunch every Saturday in the kindergarten with pink or other colors

creams (I hated these kind of cakes and I hate it now too); cherry & friends (we climbed on

the trees and eat from the tree)

5. Can you think of any smells that

you will never forget ? Which one ?

Jasmine scent, the sea smell, sandalwood, wood around the village, homme perfume,

after shave, lemon cologne, mom’s perfume, smell of bevelled grass, gingerbread, stock of

potatoes, wild violets, seaside air, female perfumes, baked bread

5. Can you think of any smells that you will never forget ? The best

When I was around 8 y.o. I was in a swimming suite. and I was jumping in a kitchen waiting

for the food. My mum was cooking for me any sousage.... I took a fog and wanted to catched it from the boiled water and split all hot water on my belly. So all summer I was lying in a bed

and still remember the smell of my burned skin, awful and painful.

5. Can you think of any smells that you will never forget ? The best

the smell of baked bread out of the oven when one reminds me of my

childhood, of my grandmothers. I close my eyes and inhale that smell of fresh bread.

A meal from egg-plant what my mother cooked for me for my birthday or when I returned from

a school trip, because it was my favourite meal. I still feel its taste and smell.

Moon landing, childhood deficit times, WWII on my family (2), E-Germany beated W-Germany in soccer on W-Championship (1974), the falling Wall (1989), end of dictatorship in Greece 1973, barricated in Latvia 1991, war in Afghanistan 1991, starving children during Biafra war, Munich 1972, soccer W-champions 1974, Twin Towers 2001

Yes, I remember that I watched on TV landing and was fascinated

by that moment later I was disappointed to find out that it was just the movie, not real.
