Antagonist – KameronAntagonist’s brother – Ellias

For our main character who is the antagonist, he shall be wearing a black winter coat (almost like a trench coat) which will be buttoned up, a pair of black trousers and black boots. With the antagonist wearing mainly black clothing, this can be connoted with evil, death and fear. The trench like coat makes the antagonist look a bit like an ex militant although he isn’t, it can make him look like a figure with power.

Ellias will also be wearing very similar clothing.

Costume

HenchmenThe Henchmen shall all be dressed the same; smart shoes, white shirt, black tie and a plain black jacket. This makes them seem a little mysterious as the black clothing can connote this. We don’t want to confuse the audience and therefor have gone for the stereotypical henchmen look with them dressed in black.

Hostages The hostages shall be wearing smart clothing, the males shall wear a suit,

some without the blazer. The woman hostage will also wear a suit. With all the hostages wearing smart clothing, this shows they are rich and powerful. With some of the hostages wearing blazers, this shows they are business-type people and are quite important.

LightingExterior The lighting for outside the barn and establishing shots shall be done during

dawn so we can get a nice natural lighting, and it would fit the story.

Interior The lighting in the barn will need to be low key, there is an overhead light in

the barn which will give the setting a nice enigmatic feel as to why Kameron is doing all this. Also the low key lighting will show how the hostages feel being kept there in the darkness as they would be unsure as to why they are being kept there.

Actors The actors in the opening scene will be effective as we want the right people

we feel would fit the right character because we want some of our characters to come across a certain way, especially for Kameron who is the antagonist of the film.

Make up The make up we will be using in our film opening will be fake blood as we

want our hostages to look beaten up, to show that they have been through violence so it creates the sense of fear in the hostages. We also need to use a lot of fake blood towards the end of the opening when our antagonist shoots a hostage.

Props For props, we will need head bags for our hostages, as they will be tied up

with their hands behind their backs, also the head bags will give the sense of fear in the hostages as they can’t see where they are and what is happening. This also shows that these powerful people have been taken down and are not as powerful as they seem as they are in a very vulnerable position.

A couple guns are also going to be used by Ellias and Kameron which will connote fear and that they are in charge and higher above their henchmen. Guns represent violence and are used to generate fear into people, especially our hostages as they are vulnerable to being shot by them.

Setting The setting shall be a rusty abandoned barn in the countryside. We will be

using this setting as it is remote and is a good place to keep people against their will as they won’t be found in a quiet un-used place. The countryside shows they are away from any city and will be used for the establishing shots.
