What is our ethos in Early Childhood?
Relationships

We believe that when these three components are balanced and well developed, your child optimizes their capacity to learn and grow.

Morning/afternoon routines
Taking care of their things
• Provide a ‘good start’ to the day – long sleep time (bedtime around 7pm) and healthy, substantial meals and snacks
• Support your child by talking them through challenges
• Give them time to think each step through
• Give positive prompts if they become distracted e.g. ‘Where does this go?’
• Allow them to take on tasks at home

Our Birthday ‘Philosophy’
Birthdays are especially important to young children as they grow. We are happy to celebrate this special time
at school. Please keep the following things in mind:
• Plan with your teacher about where/when/time• Individual cupcakes work best – less mess and more
independence!• Please do not bring goodie bags to school – we
encourage gift giving outside of school time

How We Organize Ourselves: Learning environments are organized to help us learn and work together.
How the World Works: We can ask and answer questions about how the world works through
experimentation and observation
How We Express Ourselves: Stories have a purpose and a structure and can be expressed in a variety of
ways
