• But a collaborative organisation for innovation through ICT to improve the quality of higher education and research
= bring people and expertise together in programs (projects, communities, events etc.)
• And learning analytics is a topic where we think that has value…
Why?

Research/projects that would make us happy
• Research driven by a question from educational practice
• Ongoing exchange between practical experience/validation and research focus
• A bit stating the obvious… but learning analytics is a multidisciplinary topic. Strong project proposals involve those multiple disciplines.
• Stakeholder involvement (service providers, users) throughout the process
Research/projects that would make us happy (2)
• Impact analysis!! helps big time in reporting back to policy and decision makers about the added value of learning analytics
• Research that is as transferrable, reproducible and broadly applicable as possible
• Research that makes use of the expertise from related educational fields (digital assessment, adaptive learning environments, open educational resources/MOOC’s etc.). Don’t put learning analytics on an island..
