PIOTR SKARGA’S SECONDARY SCHOOL IN GROJEC

PATRON – Piotr Skarga – (1536-1612) from Grojec was a Jesuit and a protector of Polish king Zygmunt III Waza. He became well known as a writer who wrote about thepolitics, and in his books he criticized unjustice of law, weakness of regal power and lack of patriotism. Themost famous Skarga’s book is „Kazania sejmowe”(”TheSeym Sermons”). In Grojec there is a monument thatcommemorates that great man.

Our school is one of the oldest inthe District of Grojec and inMazowieckie Province. It was founded in 1912. The presentbuilding was built before II WorldWar, in 1928. The gymnasiumwas built in 1960’s. The school isregularly modernised and extended.
