1. The sword is the oldest historic bladed weapon.Itwas necessary at the ceremonies of coronation andknighting.Characterized by a simple handle(I),usually double-edged and long hilt(II). Swords wereused unil the 16th century. 2. It is the coronation sword of Polish kings, one of the mostvaluable relics. Szczerbiec was built probably in Poland at theend of the 12th century. Szczerbiec was jagged when KingBoleslaw the Brave hit with the sword the Golden Gate of Kievin 1018 while entering. 3. On 15th July 1410 there was the biggest battle of medievalEurope between the Teutonic Order and the combined forces ofthe Polish and Lithuanian. Two naked swords were transferredto the King of Poland and Grand Dukeof Lithuania by the heralds of the GrandMaster of the Teutonic Order Ulrichvon Jungingen. A lance is a basic weapon of Polish Hussars.It was a long stick ended with a metal blade.The lance was 6,2m of length. It was alsovery ecpensive, bought by the king notHussars. In 1660 a single hit of the hussarlance broke down 6 Russian infantymen. 9. Wings were designed to intimidate theopponents horses and cause fear in theenemy units.
