Potential of rural tourism in Romania

The tourism industry plays an important role in the world economy, and is generally acknowledged to represent a significant source of economic growth for the European Union. In the present Romanian tourism losing the competitiveness face to demand of international market, moreover tourism contribution to the growth of the national economy is very low. This paper presents aspects of the rural tourism and analyses the Romanian tourism potential that holds a giant attractive heritage and Romanian rural tourism creates the conditions for preservation of structural and spiritual identity of the Romanian village. Modern human preferences are increasingly to rural tourism, because the villages are more accessible, more beautiful and original than many resorts suffer from smoothing.
BucovinaBucovina, cradle of ancient civilization, where history blends with legend, is known primarily for the tourism aspect famous churches with exterior frescoes - UNESCO heritage: Moldova, Sucevita, Voronet, Humor. No less important in terms of architectural and historic monasteries Putna, Neamt, Dragomirna.
Folk architecture is absolutely unique and original. Verandas offer real wood embroidery, doors and window frames, Fantine, gates and fences. Add to these outdoor decorations with stylized floral and geometric motifs or colored, mostly in villages in the valley Golden Bistrita, of which the best known is Ciocanesti.Art fabrics and stitching, Easter eggs painting with geometric splendid miniatures, manufacture costumes with beads and embroidery marten fur are undeniable treasure of folk art Bucovina.
MaramuresMaramureș is one of the better-known regions of Romania, with autonomous traditions since the Middle Ages - but still not very much visited. Its well-preserved wooden villages and churches, its traditional lifestyle, and the local colourful dresses still in use make Maramureș as near to a living museum as can be found in Europe.
The Maramureș churches are high timber constructions with characteristic tall, slim bell towers at the western end of the building. They are a particular vernacular expression of the cultural landscape of this mountainous area of northern Romania.
Danube DeltaTravelers can spend three or more days exploring its passages, teaming with the highest concentration of bird colonies in all of Europe. The maze of canals bordered by thatch, willows and oaks entangled in lianas, offers the perfect breeding ground for countless species of birds, some of them from as far away as China and Africa. Millions of Egyptian white pelicans arrive here every spring to raise their young, while equal numbers of Arctic geese come here to escape the harsh winters of Northern Europe.
