Production concept Storylines 1. 4 Teenage male characters with laddish personalities and characteristics. Inbetweeners type film with the four characters taking part in global challenge set to have the craziest night out making sure to record the night with pictures and video. The challenge has been noted as illegal by the government for its likelihood to cause havoc. However the four lads are not phased by this and have all eyes set to conquer the world by having the most disastrous night out they can possibly have. Key events in the trailer could include: o The gathering of the boys at one of their houses or in a pub setting perhaps a fairly short scene with fast paced editing and closes ups of the boys discussing the challenge. o Moves onto a title screen, which gives a better overview of the story with a short phrase. o Small scene of the boys gathering their filming equipment also wearing their t- shirts, which are all similar. o Possible airport scene maybe showing some close ups of information signs highlighting the location they are going. o Landing at the location showing the group on a beach preparing their over the top drinks. o A few handheld camera scenes of the characters filming each other as they stumble around and cause trouble. o A wide shot showing the boys sprinting past being followed by a police vehicle. o To finish the trailer off, include a montage of the boys causing havoc with very fast past editing. o A final title screen with the phrase ‘How mental can you get’. Setting o Beach o Pub o House o Nightclub All of the settings use will be conventional for the genre featuring mainly party themed locations. In being realistic with our filming the locations would have to be in beach areas like Hun Stanton or a local pub. These locations will apply for all of the storylines to try and keep the trailer conventional and effective. The different scenes will be very short in each of the settings and I will display some images to visualize the settings. Mice-en-scene The costumes used will be very casual for example everyday clothing like a super dry t- shirt and shorts. This will keep the trailer conventional and also make the characters fit in with the setting. For example one character could be wearing a pair of ray ban sunglasses with a branded t-shirt and breach shorts. The costume will vary dependent on location if the characters are on a beach scene they will wear more beach themed clothes such as swimming shorts along with a t-shirt. Each character will have similar clothing and all will be very informal. One character of the group who is shown as the lesser member will perhaps wear a t-shirt with a funny slogan, which draws attention to that character and humiliates him.

Setting o Beach o Pub o House o Nightclub

All of the settings use will be conventional for the genre featuring mainly party themed locations. These locations will apply for all of the storylines to try and keep the trailer conventional and effective. Camerawork Our shots throughout the trailer will be fairly basic shots paired with fast paced editing. Establishing shots could be used to highlight the location of the characters for example an establishing shot too show a beach scene. Paired with close ups and wide shots to show the characters together. A handheld camera effect will also be used in a trailer because it makes the trailer seem more realistic and connects with the character more. We will try to use a range of camera shots to show the characters effectively. We will try to use a variety of shots to shows the different characters. In the smaller settings such as a pub we will stick to mainly close ups and mid shots to keep to the conversation of the characters. Lighting The lighting will be high key throughout the trailer because we want to connote a happy and joyful mood. Also the high key lighting is more conventional the only low-key lighting will perhaps be in a night scene, which shows the boys going out in the dark. Most of the scenes for the trailer will be shown in the daytime, which gives us the advantage of natural lighting. In terms of creating and crafting our lighting this will be kept to a minimal as we do not have the resources. Sound The main sound we will have in our trailer will be dialogue from the characters, as this will help us to create the story and scene. Our style of dialogue will be very informal and language will be fairly masculine. The ambient sounds could include everyday sounds like cars and people talking in the background to add some realism to the scene. We could add in our own ambient effects but I doubt we will do this as it is a less important part of the trailer and doesn’t really help in making it more conventional and effective. We will include some non-diegetic sound such as music, which will be fairly fast paced, and upbeat. We could use some songs like gold on the ceiling, which will give it a rocky and energetic feel. For some of the party based scenes we could use some more dance and rave music to fit with the scene. Props We will use general props for example mobile phones and a car. The main props we will use in our trailer would be:

Mobile phone Car Drinks (cans etc.)

There are not many other props we would use that would be effective in our genre as we start production a prop may come in to mind or become useful.
