• Masthead - The Masthead is in the classic Q style so that it is recognisable to readers and is a trademark of the magazine. The Masthead on this front cover is being smashed by Matt Bellamy to show a rock and roll, out of control, side to his personality.

• Pull Quote – The pull quote again emphasises the sort of out of control, rock and roll, theme by say “I bought 50 tins of beans and an axe” which is very bizarre and unconventional.

• Main Article – The main article is on Muse and is in a trademark Muse font which would be recognisable to their fans as it is in the same style font and size as it is on their album covers. The main article is also in block capitals which again is a trademark of the band.

• Left Third – The left third is on the left side of the front cover so that people will see this part of the magazine when it is on newsagents’ shelf. It gives important information about what is included in this edition of the magazine and stands out white block capitals, by the font being in white it blends in well with the rest of the front cover.

• Main Image – The main image shows Matt Bellamy smashing the Q logo with his guitar which keeps up with the out of control, rock and roll style of the front cover. He also appears as if he has make- up on his eyes which make them look darker and put more emphasis on them, it also makes him appear more crazy by doing this. This representation of Matt Bellamy will entice Q readers to read the article to find out why he has suddenly gone mad.

• Cover Lines – The cover lines on the magazine show what else is inside the magazine to encourage readers to get interested by naming other bands which feature in the magazine. This may encourage readers to buy the magazine because their favourite band may be featuring inside the magazine

• Sky Line – The skyline says “ THE UK’S BIGGEST MUSIC MAGAZINE” which may encourage new readers who have a strong interest in music to buy the magazine as its supposed to be the biggest, which may lead new readers to believe its also the best.
