1. What kind of media institution might distribute your media
product and why?
2. I will be using IPC to publish my media product as they
publish other magazines but not for my genre which would leave a
gap in the market for my magazine to bloom and be profitable.
3. NME Magazine Genre: Rock, Alternative & Indie This
magazine is different to my magazine as it has a different genre,
therefore it has a different target audience. NME magazine is very
successful & has an online version of the magazine. IPC media
produce NME which leaves a gap in the market for Rookie
magazine.
4. My magazine would be very versatile in its distribution, For
example, you would be able to read it online of the website, there
would be different social Medias such as twitter and Facebook which
would give the readers updates on when the new issue would be
coming out. There would also be a Rookie app where the magazine
could be accessed by downloading the app for free but buying the
different issues in the app.
5. I would like my magazine to be distributed by shops such as
WH Smith as theyre very popular for distributing magazines to all
types of people that are top sellers, I would also like HMV to
distribute my magazine as theyre a music shop and all types of
music lovers would be in the shop and then buy the magazine.
Lastly, I would like Tesco to distribute my magazine as all types
of social classes go there and would have a look at the shelf. I
will be giving them these products on a sale return agreement so
that we would both benefit.
