Question 4: who would be the audience for your product?

TARGET AUDIENCE

We have rated our film the BBFC of 15 as we believe that anyone below that age will not be able to tolerate our content as it will be perceived as inappropriate and not suitable to view. Although our production could have been rated an 18, we felt as if that would be too old for the production and that audience below the age of 18 would be able to watch the production, but not under the age of 15.

We knew that we could have not rated the film a 12 as it would be too young and the content of the film would psychologically affect the child’s mind and would be too sensitive to watch; therefore the age rating of 15 was the most suitable for our production.

Teenagers

• The pictures on the right represent our target audience as they are all in the suitable age range for watching our production as they are perceived to be 15 or above. This particular group of teenagers often share the same interests and hobbies, which may include watching horror/thriller films; hence why they are the ideal age for watching our production.

• Also, our production is allowed to be viewed by any ethnicity, therefore the only thing required to watch our film is a personal interest in the horror/thriller genre.

Adults

• Our specific target audience is aimed at 15-48 year olds, this means that middle aged adults are most likely to also take interest in our film as the content may attract their interests and be suitable for their likings.

• However, we chose to go up to the age of 48 as we believed it would be an appropriate age to view the product, as anyone older than 48 may not be interested in the production due to the sensitive content or no interest in the genre.

Kimberley Golding is part of our target audience as she fits in within the age restriction and also has an interest in horror/thriller films as she enjoys the suspense and tension the films bring. I believe due to --- interest in horror and thriller films, she will enjoy watching our production and will hope to see more of it as it ends in a cliff hanger- making her eager to know what will happen next.

Danny Deller is also part of our target audience as his age is appropriate to watch the production. Due to his interests in horror films, I believe he would enjoy watching our film as his favourite films consist of suspense and thriller, which correlates to the theme of our production. Therefore implying that our film would be his ideal movie as it includes all aspects of a film he enjoys.
