What are question tags?• Question tags are the

short questions that we put on the end of sentences, which are intended to reinforce what has been said.

How to do the question tags? • If the main part of the sentence is positive,

the question tag is negative and if the main part of the sentence is negative, the question tag is positive.

1. If this is an auxiliary verb (have,be) then the question tag is made with the auxiliary verb

2. If the main part of the sentence doesn't have an auxiliary verb, the question tag uses an appropriate form of do

3. If there is a model verb in the main part of sentence the question tag uses the same modal verb.

• The question tag uses the same verb as the main part of the sentences:

We always need a pronoun in the question tag. If there’s a name or another noun in the sentence, we

need to use the corresponding pronoun in the question tag.

1) For people and other living beings whose

gender we know, we use he/she for the singular and they for the plural

2) In all other cases, we use it for the singular.

3) If the sentence already has a pronoun for the

subject, we use this same pronoun in the question

tag.
