2. Welcome!

  • Students will
  • Examine intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children birth through adolescences
  • Participate in the Baby Think it Over (BTIO) Program

  • Participate in class discussions and in-class activities
  • Complete a variety of assignments, current events, and projects including the collection of resources put together to form your child development notebook

4. Rules and Guidelines

  • ATTENDANCE
  • Please be in yourassignedseat when the bell rings!
  • Tardy Policy
    • First Teacher detention
    • Second Teacher detention
    • Third Call home - detention
    • Fourth Office referral
    • *Detention is 15 min. served with me before/after school or on Fridays during lunch.

5. Rules and Guidelines

  • SUPPLIES NEEDED:
  • Pen/pencil, notebook paper, planner
  • FCS bucks
  • Three-ring binder or folder to keep child development resources in
  • The binder will be kept here at schooland will be turned in at the end of the semester (HINT:It is worth a lot of points!!Please keep it organized throughout the semester!)

6. Rules and Guidelines

  • Please validate respect to the teacher and your fellow classmates; NO negativity towards others will be tolerated!
  • You will respect school property and that of your classmates
  • All other rules that apply can be found in the East High student handbook

7. Rules and Guidelines

  • NO FOOD OR DRINK!! (unless you have a note from the nurse or it is part of a Friday child development, FCCLA, or special activity)
  • Absolutely no cell phones or other electronic devices such as I-PODS!They are not to be used in the classroom!PLEASE keep these items put away until after/before school!

8. Grading

  • Grades are based on points earned on daily assignments, tests/quizzes, projects, and the child development notebook
  • Attendance is important as a MAJORITY of the work is done in class

9. Late Work

  • All work missed due to absences will be given an F or zero until the appropriate work has been completed. YOU are responsible for late work!
  • Assignments just one day late will automatically have a 20% point deduction!

10. Grading

  • EXTRA CREDIT:
  • Offered throughout the semester
  • Must be turned in before the final exam
  • Please see me if you have an idea for an extra credit project

11. $$FCS BUCKS $$

  • Earn FCS bucks
  • By being in class and being on time
  • Random acts of kindness
  • By having perfect attendance at the end of term one
  • Earning them for prizes or games
  • Being selected student of the month

12. Why should I save FCS bucks??

  • Final Exam Exemption
    • 100 bucksto be exempt from the final exam and an A/B grade and 4 or less absences (this works in addition to the schools final exam exemption policy)
  • Extra Credit
    • Up to 20 bucks each term can be turned in as extra credit points or to make up an assignment

13. Text Book Policy

  • DO NOT LOSE YOUR TEXTBOOK!IT WILL COST YOU A LOT OF MONEY!!

14. FCS Student of the Month

  • FCS Student of the Month will be awarded to one student from the child development, personal health and development, and fashion class each month
  • This student must:
    • Have good attendance
    • Turn in and complete work
    • Show respect to others
    • Be a model student
