Foot Notes:They are called foot notes because they are traditionally placed at the foot of the page. Modern writer placed them at the end of the book/Thesis. Use of foot notes: 1. It indicates the source of the information. 2. Giving honors to original authors. 3. Guide reader for more details 4. Provide legal protection. How it is written ? The name of the author,Title of the source, place of publication, publisher's name, date of publication and page numbers. Appendix: AnAppendix is used for additional or supplementary material which are not found placed in the main text. Questionnaire Interviews Complex table etc 18. Good Research Report answer with following questions: Title Is it clear and concise Does it suggest problem researcher has chosen? Problem Is the problem worthy of the researchers efforts? Is it clearly stated? Is the problem broken down in to sub- problem or question Are specific questions raised: Hypotheses clearly stated, assumptions, Limitations, Stated Are important terms defined? Is review or related literature covered. 19. Data collection Is the research design describe in detail? Is it adequate? Are the population and sample are described properly? Are relevant variables recognized? Are data gathering instruments appropriate? Data analysis Is appropriate use made of tables and figures? Is the essential discussion clear and concise? Is the statistical treatment appropriate? AreValidity and reliability established? Summary and conclusions Is the problem related? Are the questions/ Hypothesis Restated? Is the analysis, objective unbiased? Are findings and conclusions justified by the data presented and analyzed? Are conclusion based on evidence only? Are recommendation made judiciously? Whether topic for further research suggested? 20. Form and style Are table of contents,The list of tables, List of figures, Bibliography, and Appendixes etc are properly placed? Are proper spacing, Punctuation, Spelling, Margin, pagination, etc follow ? Are Headings, Foot notes, quotations, tables etc, properly arranged? Is this style of writing precise, simple and direct ? 21. Evaluator Normally follow the following criteria for evaluation: 1. Social relevance 2. Scope of further research 3. Actual contribution of the study 4. Soundness of methodology 5. Research subject should be search which would change the world. e.g. C.K. Prahlad- Management thinker, with his innovative concepts change the world. e.g. 1. core competency of corporation 2. Bottom of pyramid. 3. stretch as a strategic lever(aspiration must be more than resources, which would be lead to innovation ) all the above ideas are accepted and implemented. Conclusion: To conclude research must fact based. socially relevant . It should be useful in someway or the other. Chapter-Evaluation of thesis 22. Synopsis or Executive summary It is the brief account of the research study which gives problem statement, sampling design, data collection methods used, a results of data analysis, finding and recommendation with suggestion for the implementation. 75% Of the synopsis should consist of findings conclusion, recommendations and conclusions.
