Motivation
One of the major aims of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA): Universalretention by 2010
Dropout rate in primary schools:
I Ministry of Human Resources (2012): In 2011-12 the dropout rate was27% (28.7% for boys and 25.1% for girls)
I District Information System for Education (DISE):
1 In 2008-2009, all India dropout rate: 9.11% ( 9.35% for boys and8.16% for girls)
2 In 2008-2009, school dropout rate in Uttar Pradesh: 16.7% ( 17.5 %for boys and 16.7% for girls)

Conclusion
Medium of instruction being English, presence of both electricity anddrinking water facility in the school, number of graduate teachers,increased teacheras grant under SSA, and any academic inspectionresult in a decrease in the dropout rate.
Presence of common toilet facility in the school and surprisingly thepresence of only electricity in the school, increase the rate of dropout.
Developing a very good infrastructure is a pre-requisite for a goodschooling system.
