Social Science Citation Index
Choose “Web of Science”
Enter your search terms using “connectors” between them:OR – one term or the other e.g. women OR femaleAND – both terms e.g. women AND violenceSAME – both terms in the same sentence e.g. Women SAME violence“ “ – phrase e.g. “human rights”, “South Africa”, “United Nations”
To search by subject choose ‘Topic’
Make sure that the SSCI is ticked

List results by date, times cited or relevance
You can refine your results using the box on the left hand side. You can refine by broad subject or by document type. There are also options to refine your search such as by title of specific journals or sources (source titles)
You can print, email or save results to reference management software. There is also the option to save to a marked list that you can view at the end. To do this you need to tick the box next to the items and click on the relevant button above.
Click on title to get an abstract and further details including keyword and articles citedSource has the full citation
and when it was published
Find it@ Oxford links through to where the article may be available in Oxford including online sources
Time cited states how many times this article has been cited in other articles

Finding the full text of an article
Click on Find it @ Oxford. This brings up a list of databases or ejournals that have the article. For example here the article is available in 4 places. Click on Go next to your preferred source. Please note it may not take you directly to the article.
There is also a list of print holdings as well as related articles
The link will take you through to the correct database. In this example it has taken us to straight to the article but be aware that this may not happen in each instance depending on the database. If it does not take you straight to the article you may need to use the search facilities within the database to find the article.
