This is a map of the places that use solar power in New Zealand. Another place that might have solar panels put in is Te Hapua. Maybe in the future sometime.

For solar power to Be installed in Te Hapua we need sunny weather, otherwise it will not work properly. We also need to find where the sun shines the most and that’s where we install the solar panels. The best sun hours is in the afternoon. And your properly thinking how the power works at night when there is no sun? In the day the solar panels charge from the sun, and at night it runs off the battery that stored the extra solar power from the sun. If the sun hours are too short, there is no point in getting solar panels for Te Hapua.

There is another solar panels that can feed lots of other houses including yours, and there is no line charges, you get paid for generating excess power. For example if you make 3 kilowatts, and you only use 2 kilowatts, you get 1 kilowatt excess. So the power company ends up paying you for the free power. It is much cheaper than paying thousands, and thousands of dollars each year on power bills. You can just pay for the installation of the power, and you wont have to pay anymore enormous power bills.

I think that the solar power can be harvest in Te Hapua, because even in winter it still gets hot in the stormy conditions. It’s really up to the people of Te Hapua (The locals), weather they would like this for Te Hapua or not. It would be really good for everyone, and you will have a way cheaper power bill by doing this.

Instead of using the normal batteries for solar power you can use tractor batteries. Depending on what sort of size the tractor battery is. Like if its small it costs only about $60 dollars, but if it is a large one it costs like round about $200 to $300 dollars. If you don’t want batteries you can use the power companies line and since you give them the excess power they end up paying you, for the excess power.
