1. Failure to face the problem. This usually occurs when the problem

has not been properly defined.

2. Mistaking goals for strategy.

3. Bad strategic objectives. Beware a long list of objectives that are

not prioritised or even connected to one another.

4. “Fluff”. Distrust a strategy that restates the obvious with

buzzwords. Remove the buzzwords to see what the strategy really

says.
