Connor O'Reilly 9290 - 'The Ordinary' - Style guide SHORT FILM STYLE GUIDE The logo that is to be used throughout the whole project was a choice of these logos that I made: The logos that have green ticks in the boxes were the ones that all three of the group liked. OUTCOME: I decided to ask some of my peers, most of which were the same as our target audience, which logo was the best in their opinion. In total I asked ten people. The results were that out of logos #4, #5 and #6: 50% preferred logo #5, 30% preferred logo #4 and 20% preferred logo #7. It is going to be used in the short-film, on every poster and on the review page (optional). It is a solid black colour (#000000). The main font for our project is between: Geo Sans Light, Caviar Dreams and Champagne & Limousines. We have decided to go for sans serif fonts because they give a modern feel to the film. The thin lettering also adds to the mysterious effect of the short-film. We plan to use the font for the logo - "The Ordinary" - and the medium italic version for the credits within the film - "A film by Connor O'Reilly, Liam Wright and Hannah Driver".

The colour scheme for a short-film is: black and white at the beginning and then in colour for the rest of the film. We use this technique to show the difference between Jay at the start and Jay at the end, and how The Ordinary has positively changed his life. In the black and white part of the film, the only thing that will still be in colour will be the red phone box. This will signify the path that the character must take.

Towards the end of the film, we have planned to display a quote which will give the short-film a strong meaning that the audience can reflect on. The quote is: "In order to change your life, you must start with the little things". The composition of the layout will be similar to this draft that I made.

The fonts that we found for this quote were Goudy Bookletter 1911 and Linux Libertime. The colour of the font will be white on a dark background of the phonebox.
