• Survey respondents agreed with the following 5 eLearning trends:

• Personalized (adaptive) learning

• Responsive content

• Specialized learning materials

• Content curation

• Self-directed learning

• Participants identified learning objectives as fundamental in the eLearning content

creation process

• Tin Can API – respondents are not at all, or only slightly familiar with the technology

• Sample: 60 participants from 16 nationalities (4% response rate)

• Majority of participants – experts in the field of eLearning experienced using

• Personalized, self-directed, and specialized eLearning content that is accessible anywhere and anytime will be the future of eLearning.

Bloom’s Taxonomy & Learning Objectives

• Bloom’s taxonomy is a classification of the different levels of cognitive learning

• Considered one of the leading theories in the area of learning

• Majority of respondents are familiar with the theory (81%) and consider it helpful (77%)

• Course designers use Bloom’s taxonomy to define/develop learning goals/ lessons/activities/objectives/evaluations

Challenge: Often misunderstanding/misuse of the concept

Tin Can API

• 56% of respondents – have no familiarity with the Tin Can technology

• Majority of participants, who are familiar with the tool, have only researched/read/heard/discussed it, but it is not integrated in their work.

• Tin Can is a new specification for learning technology that facilitates data collection on a wide range of learning experiences an individual completes, both online and offline These learning experiences are recorded in a Learning Record Store (LRS).

The Process of Creating eLearning courses

1) Create learning objectives (first step for 60%)

3) Select content materials (third step for 46%)

4) Write questions (fourth step for 47%)

5) Do a time table (last step for 61%)

• Structuring courses around learning objectives –extremely helpful for 81% of participants
