Our results show that the potential audience is both male and female so our film will have to appeal to both genders

Our main audience is in the age category of 13-18. Therefore our production will be aimed at teenagers. We have already adapted our prop choice to suit teenagers more as we are using a mobile phone instead of a watch. As our target audience is mainly around the 13-18 mark we have ensured that our film will not have a BBFC rating of more then a 12. To achieve this we have ensured that there is no violence in our introduction and it is only suggested violence.

Our survey results show that people have a variety of favourite film genres and non in particular stand out. As most of our responses were from 13-18 year olds this shows our target audience does not have a popular film genre in general. The thriller genre is as popular as the others though so this is a suitable genre to chose for our audience.

Leonardo DiCaprio was our responses favourite actor. This is good for us because he stars in a lot of thriller films such as Shutter Island and Inception so his fans must like thriller films. However Alfred Pinsent was someone's favorite actor and we have managed to contact him for our production. We asked people who their favourite actor was so we could identify which sort of films they like as actors tend to star in the same type of films. For example Leonardo DiCaprio tells us that people enjoy watching psychological thrillers such as inception and shutter island.

These thriller films give us an idea of the specific type of thriller they enjoy. For example shutter island is someone's favourite film and Leonardo DiCaprio is the main actor of that film. This shows that psychological thrillers are popular with our target audience.

People enjoy thriller films for effective and interesting storylines and also for tension and maybe quite frightening too. As a result of this we have aimed to make our film much more interesting and mysterious then normal thriller films and not to include lots of action and violence. This is because people tend to watch thriller films more for the story line rather then the violence.

The majority of our target audience do enjoy films which challenge their genre conventions. Therefore we have broken some key thriller conventions in our film such as using females as the antagonists instead of victims (as women are usually represented). The protagonist is also wearing dark clothing.

Most people enjoy violent films and some people enjoy violence less frequently. This suits our first few minutes of the film as we do not have any violence however the antagonist is seen with a knife on the last scene which will most likely lead to violence. Although there is no actual violence in our film we instead suggest violence as it finishes with the antagonist pulling a knife out on the victim. As well as not including violence and only suggesting it in our film, we have also decided not to include violence to allow the BBFC rating to be lower. This is because if we do include violence then the film rating will be more likely to move up to a 15 or 18. This would be a disaster for our film as it is mainly aimed at 13 to 18 year olds and if the BBFC rating cut that target audience then our film will be much less popular and successful.

Most people wanted a cast of around the age 19 to 24 and also a few people wanted 13 to 18. This is quite useful as our cast is mainly around the age of 16 or 17.

People watch films mainly for entertainment and we aim to entertain people with our film by adding tension using different camera techniques and the Nickel Helmut theory.
