NME doesn’t have a particular genre that it sticks to and that it is relevant to, instead it changes with music, The target audience for NME is somewhat hard to pinpoint, this is due to the fact it depends on the content of the particular issue but as it normally has rock/pop bands on the front I would say its target audience is from 15-25. The content of the magazine is also somewhat spontaneous, and depends largely on what is ‘hot’ that week. It often includes the latest news. For example Liam Gallagher joining the dirty pretty things as well as new album announcements and tour dates. It also seems to include controversial stories which they make sure to include on the font which would encourage people to buy it. Two examples of controversial stories are ‘we didn’t start a band to hand with dicks from big brother’ and ‘I was happier when I was drunk’. NME’s publisher is IPC media which is a consumer and digital publisher in the United Kingdom it sells over 350 million copies a year.

NME doesn’t have a particular genre that it sticks to and that it is relevant to, instead it changes with music, whatever is most relevant at the time it creates content for.

Tops of the pops has a very evident genre, pop.

The content of the magazine is very much based on gossip and romances with popular artists. For example ‘5SOS get romantic’ and Love lies & scary surprises’. Most weeks it also includes posters of various artists/bands and tends to give advice on makeup and boys etc. The content of this magazine is much more gossip based rather than factual with it really giving any information about albums, tours on the front.

This magazine has a very specific target audience, young teenage girls. If I has to put an age range on it, it would be 10-15 year olds.

Top of the Pops magazine is a monthly publication published by Immediate Media Company

The genre of vibe is hip hop, rnb and rap.

The content for vibe is informative as well as having a few stories such as the ‘the genius kin fog R&B has yet to go to trial is he innocent or guilty?’ It gives exclusives for popular artists.

The target audience for this magazine is 15 -25 and more based toward the male gender.

The magazine was founded by producer Quincy jones and is now being published InterMedia partners.
