Success is measured on two different tracks:

Internally: when you have a sense of achievement after

your endeavors have ended in prosper.

Externally: when you have attained wealth, position,

honors, or the like and people around you think you are

successful.

A lasting success must have both elements.

What Is Success?

Page 5: The Success Process

Success is like a journey. It changes the way successful

individual thinks and reacts forever.

As the result of achieving success, the successful person gains

new skills and experiences that are valued by the society and

the market.

In this regard, success is the direct result of numerous small

steps in the right direction taken according to a well-thought-

through plan, not mere luck.

Success in only one or two dimensions will eventually lead to

an unbalanced life and a sense of unhappiness.

New skills and experiences cannot be injected into you to

make you instantly successful in an area, for example social

skills or parenting, if you’ve neglected it for years.

Extreme success in one dimension, for example high wealth or

very successful career, cannot buy you back what you have lost

in the other dimensions.

Page 9: The Success Process

High achievers have mastered the skill of setting realistic

goals, creating practical plans to reach them, and

efficiently executing their plans, just like we drive a car

without too much attention to the details of steering the

car. Success has become an intuitive process for them.

They follow the success process, most of the times

without even being aware of it.

IMAGINE PLAN

EXECUTE

Page 11: The Success Process

The success process first starts with the high achiever

imagining there is something desirable that can be

reached through efforts.

When this mental picture of the objective is fully

developed, the high achiever has got a vision.

Then he converts his vision into specific, measurable,

attainable, relevant, and time-bound (S.M.A.R.T) goals.

Goals

Without practical goals, there is no target to hit

Page 13: The Success Process

The High achiever knows planning significantly increases his

chance of success. Without proper planning, his efforts at a

goal will be no more than haphazard stride.

To create a plan, the high achiever breaks a goal down to a list

of simple and manageable tasks, each with a start date and a

finish date, and assigns the required resources to them.

The high achiever not only sees the risks better than the

ordinary but also prepares for them in his plans.

Finally everything comes down to effective execution of

the plans for the high achiever.

He constantly measures their performance against his

plans and makes necessary adjustments. When he hits an

obstacle, he is well prepared to deal with it.

The high achiever doesn’t grieve for setbacks. He

investigates what has gone wrong and how it can be fixed.
