SENSE ORGANS• These detect information from the
world and the nerves send this information to the brain.
SMELLOur nose is the organ of smell. Air enters the nose through the nostrils.
So……The olfatory nerve sends information about the smells to the brain.
TASTE• The tongue is the organ of taste. It is covered in taste buds.
So…
Nerves send information about the tastes to the brain.
SIGHTOur eyes are the organs of sight. Light enters the eye and makes an image on the retina.
So……The retina sends this information through the optic nerve to the brain.
HEARINGOur ears are the organs of hearing.
When sound enters the ear, the liquid inside the cochlea moves and sends signals to the brain through the auditory nerve.
TOUCH• Our skin is the organ of touch. The sensory nerves in our skin send
information to the brain.
