THE WHITE PROJECT

The "White Project" focuses on challenging the boundaries of an artist’s vision of design…’without colour’. Since most students nowadays are pretty fashion-savvy, they probably know that the colour White has replaced black, to become the "in" colour this spring and summer. THE WINTER WHITE theme has been bubbling up in the fashion world for some time now. The clean and modern collection designed by students of VIDM, has been filled with unexpected silhouettes and architectural shapes which epitomise the White Theme running common in all ensembles. The students have interpreted their individual perceptions of White using unusual fabrics, textures and silhouettes. The entire collection is a celebration of White, a colour that will always be a classic.
About the White Project
Recognize and relate various contemporary fashion issues. Examine and critically evaluate the design process and provide innovative, original
and working solutions for the given design brief. Demonstrate fashion presentation skills, render fashion figure with details and basic
garment drape. Explore, analyze and interpret design concepts to create garments. Apply technique and method of construction, draping and patternmaking with
context to material, form manipulation in a creative manner. Apply basic garment pattern making and construction skills in the process of design
realization. Initiate the process of design, technical and visual research on an independent basis to
develop individual working style. Demonstrate personal creativity, self – awareness and ability to critically evaluate own
and peer performance. Display organization skills, time and stress management, planning and team-working
skills.
