THRILLER TITLES

SEVEN

The film begins with a book presenting the name of the production company. As the pages of the book turn, the names of the actors in this film appear. The names of actors sometimes appear on a dark, black background. The dark colors used here could suggest that something bad or negative could happen in this films narrative.

The tile of this film is shown in the middle of the title sequence. The title suddenly flashes onto the screen in between the directors and actors names. The flash has connotations of bad weather such as lightening or rain. This could also suggest that something bad will happen in the narrative of this film.

The names of actors are in a font that looks handwritten. This font goes with the background image because its as if the character in the film has written it.

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBSAll of the titles in this movies title sequence are shown on the background of the location where the opening is set. The setting is a forest with lots of trees and other greenery. The forest creates a dark, mysterious atmosphere. It creates suspense and it raises a lot of questions for the audience.

The first title that appears on the screen is the location of where the film is set. The font used here is small and is in the bottom right of the screen. The font is white, so that even though the title isn't directly in the audiences face, attention is still paid to it. This font is different to all of the other fonts used in the titling of this movie.

The titles of the names of actors, directors etc. are bold in capital letters. The font is black with a white border. The black font blends into the forest background and without the white border it would be hard for the audience to see. The darker writing along with the mysterious background foreshadows the fact that something bad is going to happen.

SHUTTER ISLANDThe titling in this movie is quite simple. All of the titles are on a plain, black background. The font used for the titling is bold and capital letters are used. The grey and white coloured font is used to make the writing stand out against the black background, ensuring that the audience's focus is on the titles because there is nothing else for them to pay attention to. The title of the film fades on and off the screen.
