Title I: The Structure & Implementation of the ACIP
Graham Elementary School
What is Title I?
Being a Title I school means receiving federal funding (Title I dollars) to supplement the school’s existing programs. These dollars are used for… Identifying students experiencing academic difficulties and providing timely
assistance to help these student’s meet the State’s challenging content standards. Purchasing supplemental staff/programs/materials/supplies Conducting parental Involvement meetings/trainings/activities Recruiting/Hiring/Retaining Highly Qualified Teachers
The ACIP outlines how we will use our Title I funds to meet our student’s needs, in these areas, based on our data.
The ACIP: How is it developed?
Developed based on school data (What areas did our data show we needed to improve?)
Data is reviewed and areas of needed improvement are identified (Local Indicator)
Goals are developed to improve these identified areas (How much improvement can we reasonably see?)
Strategies are developed to help meet each goal (What are we going to do as a school to meet these goals?)
Title I money is used to help fund these strategies Title I money needed to fund the strategies is allocated in the plan
At the end of the year the school must show evidence that we have worked on these goals and determine if improvements were made based on data
The ACIP: How is it developed?
A Title I team is developed This team should encompass all teachers. Parents and community members must also be a part of this team. At GES a Title I Team will be developed and these members will share and gain input
from the remaining staff in order to develop the schools goals and strategies. Each teacher will be required to keep a copy of the ACIP in their classrooms and be familiar
with the goals and strategies the school is working on.

Step # 1: Look at our data and determine an area we feel we need to improve in order for our students to be successful (College and Career Ready).
- Look at areas that can relate back to the TCS Strategic Plan Goals and the Plan 2020 Goals. Step # 2: Develop a measureable goal for these areas.Step # 3: Develop some strategies we will use to help us improve in these areas and meet these goals. Step # 4: Work on these goals throughout the year, collect evidence that we have done this, and determine if we have improved based on our data.
