One activity I enjoy doing
For pleasure or for business,
I have the TRAVELLING virus, as far back as I can remember.
Most of those trips remain in my memory ;
no pictures to back up anymore.
I stopped counting flights
after the 500th
My first time travelling for leisure
• It was 27 years ago. I remember clearly my parents offering me to go to Scotland as an au-pair to learn english.
• I spent 2 summers there. I was staying in Aberdeen, in a very nice English-Wales family – the Thubron’s. I saw growing their 3 kids who are now adults.
• The first 3 days, I was like mute. With my french college education, I could hardly find my words. Then suddenly, I jumped into the situation and made the best of it.
» My feeling: I was so cold with anav. temperature of 15 deg C in august.
» But so greatful for the experience.
• On 13th August 1997, I arrived in Argentina after my 1st long-haul flight.• My mission: coordinate start-up of the air conditioning in a cheese factory
and train the staff…. in spanish…..With a good individual language training and preparation, I succeeded.
• My first impression: tired and cold, I was very surprised that everybody was giving me a kiss, to say hello ; even top management of the cie.Very unexpected professional approach for a european person.
• The big surprise: I met my future husband on that same day. After 12th year anniversary, I still remember him clearly coming to me in that factory.
His eyes…..
