Different climate zones:Humid subtropical Climate

World climate

• Cold climate• Tropical climate• Dry climate• Humid climate• Arid climate

A humid subtropical climate is a zone of climate characterisedby hot, usually humid summers and mild to cool winters. It normally lies on the southeast side of all continents. The Humid Subtropical climate classification was created in the Trewartha Climate classification.southeast asia, southeastamerica have humid subtropical climate

Nepal, bhutan, bangladesh and northeast indiahave a humid subtropical climate.

Climates are turned humid subtropical when they have mean temperatures of 10 °C (50 °F) for eight or more months a year. In most locations classed within this system, the mean temperature of the coldest month is between 3 °C (42 °F) and 18 °C (65 °F). The warmest month normally has a mean temperature of 72 F(22 C) or higher.

Rainfall often shows a summer peak, especially where monsoon are well developed, as in Southeast Asia. However, other areas tend to have more uniform rainfall. Most summer rainfall occurs during thunderstormsthat build up due to the intense surface heating and strong subtropical sun angle. Weak tropical lows that move in from adjacent warm tropical oceans, as well as infrequent tropical storms often contribute to high sun (summer) seasonal rainfall peaks. Winter rainfall is often associated with large storms in the westerlies that have fronts that reach down into subtropical latitudes. However, many subtropical climates such as southeast Asia or Florida have very dry winters, with frequent brush fires and water shortages.

Humid Subtropical Climate

The Humid Subtropical climate is found on the east coast of continents between 20o and 40o north and south of the equator. The southeast United States is a good example of this climate. Florida has a Humid Subtropical climate.

• Location :

Humid Subtropical climate is known for hot humid summers and mild winters. During the summer the average temperature is between 70 and 80 degrees. The coldest month usually averages 45-50 degrees

• Temperature:

The natural vegetation found in Humid Subtropicalareas are mainly evergreen trees, bushes, and shrubs. These are not the hardy evergreen trees like pine and spruce. Most of

these evergreens are more delicate.

• Vegetation:

A humid subtropical climate is a zone of climatecharacterised by hot, usually humid summers and mild to cool winters. It normally lies on the southeast side of all continents,

generally between latitudes 25° and 40°.

•Influence climate:

The traditional houses used in warm humid Malaya are designed to allow the maximum flow of air whilst preventing solar heating with a thickly thatched roof.

Traditional House

•Provide maximum vantilation and free air movement by large opening.•Provide maximum shading of direct and difuse solar rediation.•Avoid heat storage.•Use vegetation to moderate the solar impact•Use ventilated double roof.
