The three aspects of the Trivium correspond with the three stages of a child’s development.

The Latin word Trivium means "where three roads meet." All education, up until the 20th century, was structured around these three roads of learning. The ancients called them:

II. Train the Mind Grammar (Knowledge) Stage (Grades K-4)

Development of core knowledge

• Bible, Character Development, Literature, Writing, Grammar, Vocabulary, History,

Geography, and Fine Arts incorporating Charlotte Mason Methodology

• Students study 2 artist and 2 composers each year for Cultural Literacy

Understanding of core knowledge/logic and proper argumentation.

• 5th and 6th – Study Greek and Latin roots, Geography, etc.

• 7th and 8th – History>Biographical Study, Formal Logic,. etc.

– applying biblical principles to all of life, so they can impart truth to the students in an understandable manner

– integrate faith and learning in all of the different subjects


Veritas Classical Home Studies provides:

• biblically integrated core curriculum

• regular assignments to outline the student's weekly work at

home

• accountability for completed assignments

• teaching of advanced subjects with enrichment activities

not frequently included in homeschool studies

• evaluation of the student's progress by experienced educators

• weekly classroom peer interaction in an academic

environment
