VIA Next Innovators: Background

私たちが暮らしているこの社会には様々な問題があります。貧困や自然破壊をはじめ、ス

ポーツ・アスリートへの支援の不足、動物愛護などその数はあまりに多いです。既に各々

の関心に沿ってある社会課題に取り組んでいる人々もいますが、必ずしも十分な人数がい

るとは言えないのが実情です。また、一人の人間があらゆる社会課題の解決に向けて動く

ことが不可能なため、私たちの社会は、多岐にわたる社会課題に対して違和感を持ち、そ

の解決にむけて活動する人材を必要としているのです。

Our society is facing a lot of social issues such as poverty, destruction of nature, lack of

effective support for athletes, animal protection etc. Some people are already taking

action to address certain social issues depending on their interest, but it is not enough.

It is extremely difficult for a single person to take action to address the various types of

social issues, but that does not mean that he/she can ignore the social issues that

he/she does not approach. Therefore, our society requires more change-makers who

have passion and compassion to address and solve social issues.

弊団体はアメリカのサンフランシスコにある教育系 NPO法人 VIAのプログラム修了生に

より設立されました。弊団体は問題解決のために動く人々を増やし繋げることで、私たち

の社会やそこにいる人々が自らの可能性を高め、人々の人生における選択肢が狭められる

ことのない地球社会の実現に貢献するという決意のもと、様々な活動を展開していきま

す。

VIA Next Innovators was founded by students who completed social innovation themed

programs offered by VIA, a non-profit organization based in San Francisco. In

partnership with VIA, VIA Next Innovators aims at developing a network of social

innovators that will help our society and people reach their potentials. By taking such

actions, we are committed to contribute to our global society.

ソーシャル・イノベーターを増やし、つなげることで、我々の地球社会に貢献する。

（本組織におけるソーシャル・イノベーターとは「創造的かつ共感性をもった活動を展開

することで、社会やそこにいる人々の潜在的可能性が最大化することを目指している

人々」を指す。）

Contribute to our global society by increasing and connecting social innovators in Japan.

(Social Innovators: People who help our society and citizens reach their potential through creative

and empathetic action.)

Mission 1: New Participant Recruitment 「増やす」

VIA の提供する Social Innovation プログラムへ情熱をもった多様な人材を送る。

Increase motivated and diverse Japanese participants who will join VIA’s social innovation

programs.

Mission 2: Alumni Engagement 「つなげる」

VIA の提供する Social Innovation program修了生をつなぐ。

Connect the past participants of VIA and build new connections among them.

Mission3: Take Action 「おこす」

ソーシャル・イノベーションに有益なツールを体験・練習できる種々の機会を提供し、新

たな一歩を踏み出すことを後押しする。

Offer VIA alumni opportunities to practice skills for social innovation and encourage them to take

VIA NEXT INNOVATORS: 組織構造

Structure of VIA Next Innovators

VIA Next Innovatorsの組織構造は以下の図の通りである。VIA Next Innovators は東京

と関西を中心に活動を展開する。VIA Next Innovators Tokyo (NIT)では代表・副代表を

設置し、広報・総務・会計・企画・生涯の各部門を設置した。各部門にはそれぞれ部門リ

ーダーが設置され、各部門を管理する。VIA Next Innovators Kansai (NIK)では代表・副

代表は置くものの、プロジェクト毎にプロジェクト・チームを組織し活動を展開する。こ

れは関西地域では修了生の人数が相対的に少ないことによる措置である。関西地域での組

織の人的規模が拡大した場合、NITのように部門を設置することもある。それは NIKの

中で判断し決定する。

VIA Next Innovator has the following structure (see the chart below). VIA Next

Innovators has two branches, one in Tokyo and another in Kansai. The former is VIA

Next Innovators Tokyo (NIT), and the latter is VIA Next Innovators Kansai (NIK). NIT

has a representative, vice-representative and five divisions: Communication, General

Affairs, Accounting, Planning, and Public Relations. Each division has a leader who

manages his/her own division. On the other hand, NIK does not have a division system.

This is because there are fewer alumni in the Kansa-area. Whenever NIK holds

workshops or events, NIK will set up a project team. In the future when the number of

alumni members in Kansai grows, NIK will shift to a division system following NIT.

VIA Next Innovators: The Articles of Incorporation

第一章名称 (Charter 1: Name)

第 1条 (Article 1)

本組織は VIA Next Innovators（ヴィア・ネクスト・イノベーターズ）と称する。

The name of this organization is “VIA Next Innovators.”

第二章目的と事業 (Charter 2: Purpose and Actions)


本組織は日本において Social Innovatorを増やし繋げることを通じて、地球社会に貢献す

ることを目的とする。

The purpose of VIA Next Innovators is to contribute to our global society by increasing and

connecting social innovators in Japan.


本組織において Social Innovatorは、社会やそこにいる人々の可能性を拡大させるために

創造的かつ本質的な活動を展開する人々を指す。

A social innovator is understood as a person who helps our society and supports citizens

reach their potential by taking creative and meaningful actions.

本組織は前条の目的を達成するために次の事業を行う。

VIA Next Innovators will take the following actions to achieve the purpose listed above.

1. 米国NPO法人 VIA の提供する Social Innovationに関わるプログラムへの参加者を

増やすために種々の活動を展開する。

The organization helps recruit new participants to join VIA’s social innovation

programs.

2. 米国NPO法人 VIA の提供する Social Innovationに関わるプログラム修了生の間に

繋がりを構築する。

The organization connects past participants of VIA’s social innovation programs and

develops new connections among them.

3. 本組織はメンバーがデザイン思考や英語など社会問題にアプローチするために必要な

手法を実践的に学ぶ。また、その機会を提供する。

The organization provides opportunities for its members to practice skills (e.g.,

English, design-thinking) to realize social innovation. .

4. 本組織のメンバーは創造的な活動を展開するよう努力するとともに、種々の活動のプロセ

スを楽しみながら最大限のものを学ぼうとする姿勢を保持する。

Members of this organization strive to be creative and enjoy the process of maximizing

learning.

第三章メンバー (Charter 3: Membership)

本組織に入る際は次のいずれかの条件を満たさなければならない。

To become a member of VIA Next Innovators, one of the following conditions need to be

met.

1. VIAの提供する Social Innovationに関わるプログラムを修了していること。

A person who has completed a social innovation program offered by VIA.

2. VIAの提供する Social Innovationに関わるプログラムのコーディネーター、フェロ

ー等に就任経験があり運営に携わったことがあること。

A person who has experience managing a social innovation program offered by VIA

as a coordinator, as a fellow, etc.

3. VIAの提供する他のプログラム修了生もメンバーになることはできるが、その際は代

表あるいは副代表と面談をし、該当代の代表あるいは副代表の判断に依る。

A person who has completed a VIA program other than the ones focusing on social

innovation can become a member of VIA Next Innovators but he/she has to go

through an interview process with the president or vice-president.


本組織から退会しようとするメンバーは、その旨を本組織に申し出るものとする。

When leaving VIA Next Innovators, the member will report to the organization.


次にあげる事項をメンバーが行った場合、代表及び副代表は協議のうえでそのメンバーを

本組織から脱退させることができる。

If a member meets one of the following conditions, the president or vice-president can

disaffiliate him/her from the organization.

1. 日本国における法律の明確な違反

In case a member violates the law in Japan

2. 本組織定款の意図的な違反

In case a member violates the articles of incorporation of VIA Next Innovators

3. 定例会議に 2カ月以上無断欠席をした場合。ただし、やむを得ない事情がありメンバ

ーとして活動を続ける明確な意思がある場合は除く。

In case a member is absent from the regular meeting for more than two months.

However, if he/she has unavoidable circumstances, he/she can continue to be a

member, showing his/her clear will to stay with the organization.

第四章役職 (Chapter 4: Role )

第 8条

代表及び副代表は任期を毎年度 4月から 3月末日までの 1年間とし、毎年度 4月にメンバ

ーによる自薦あるいは他薦で決定する。複数名候補がいる場合は、候補者を除いたメンバ

ーにより投票を行い決定する。

The president’s and vice-president’s tenure is a year from April to March the following

year. In April, these positions are selected from a pool of recommended or self-

appointed applicants. In case there are more than one candidate for a spot, the

president or vice-president will be elected through a voting system by members of VIA

Next Innovators.

Each division leader’s tenure is a year from April to March the following year. In April,
