What is weather?
The term weather describes the state of the air at a particular place and time – whether it is warm or
cold, wet or dry, and how cloudy or windy it is.
A meterorologist is someone who studies and reports the weather.
A rain gauge measures how much rain has fallen.
A weather vane tells which direction the wind is blowing.
An anemometer tells how fast the wind blows.
A thermometer tells what the temperature is.
