Goal: Reach more readers by offering the format they prefer

More readers = more sales = more positive word of mouth =

more sales

both a Print and eBook version

Print covers require more work and more elements

Different from an eBook

  Fiction – Logline & Hook

Nonfiction – State the Benefit Promise & Credentials

Continue front cover image/theme/palette throughout the book spine and back cover

List the genre (for proper shelving) on back of book

Valid EAN barcode, inclusive of price & ISBN   Look at competing book genres and see if they are including the price and

ISBN on the back of their book to help you determine

Where to setup your POD

CreateSpace™   “In Stock” in Amazon™ store, and shows up on your book sales page as

an available format option

DON’T select expanded distribution when setting up POD

IngramSpark or Lightning Source   Orderable in U.S. bookstores

Wider selection of discount & return options than CreateSpace™

IngramSpark is easier/cheaper than Lightning Source, but does not offer

as many discount options

You may have trouble getting accepted by Lightning Source
