ARTIST PRESENTATION

Many comments we received contradicted each other. An example of this is how some felt that the artist’s clothing was inappropriate however others differently.

We learned from many that we presented the artist well and gave a strong brand image. Usually a pop dance artist’s look is crucial when promoting a single as the way they look can sometimes be almost as important as the music. If someone really likes the look of an artist, they may be biased and their judgements of the song may be changed. Although some felt the artist would be a bad influence on younger audiences. This is common with many pop dance artists today especially artists such as Miley Cyrus and Rihanna.

HUMOUR

When showing the video to others to get feedback, we found that many people laughed whilst watching it and found it funny. This was a positive thing as humour was something we aimed to include in our music video as we saw it in many other such as Katy Perry’s ‘Last Friday Night. The costume played a large part in this. Also using the same actress for the mother and father added to the humour and is similar to other dance pop music videos like Lady Gaga’s ‘You and I’. The video is based around a couple where she plays the part of both; the female and male.

GIRL POWERWe learned that the body language and attitude given off throughout the video was good as it connoted exactly what we wanted. The audience understood and commented on the girl power and energy given off.

Many people also felt that the use in colour for the digipack and advert was very good as it reflected the artist and song very well. However, due to different tastes, the colours did not appeal to everybody and some felt it was too feminine.

EDITING

We received many positive comments on the editing. Some people thought that the lip synching and on beat editing was very much on time. Also the advert and digipack received a lot of positive feedback on the use of colour.

CONCLUSION

To conclude, we found that we were over all successful as we mostly received good comments. These were mostly on the attitude portrayed by the artist and the use of costumes. All of the people we asked understood very clearly what we were trying to connote and thought that the song went very well with the visuals.

The criticism we did receive were not very much on the editing or techniques we used but for mostly the choice of song.
