Why not Thar coal…

Thar Coal Project in Pakistan is about using the state of the art technology to use the 5.1 billion

tons of Coal Reserves in Thar (Pakistan) to generate not only electricity but wet and dry fuel as

well. The Coal in this reserve is among the best quality Coal in the world. If the coal is used only

for the purpose of generating electricity then it can provide the fuel for producing 50,000

Megawatt of electricity or the next 800 years to Pakistan at the cheapest rates in the world. The

Government is aware of the potential this reserve has since 1992. It’s been 18 years now and not

much development has been made. The Thar project is the most recent and a promising

development in order to utilize this reserve. It is in its initial stages. It has begun on experimental

basis and in the next few months we will be able to generate 100 megawatt of power by using the

technology we have right now in Thar Coal Project's first stage. In the next three years this

power generation can reach 1000 megawatt if this project is allowed to complete without any

interruptions. Currently the project is being headed by the nuclear scientist Dr. Samar Mubarak.

The technology which is being used for this project is amazing and doesn’t require the extraction

of coal out of the ground, the coal while being in the ground is converted into Coal Gas and this

gas is then used for various purposes. If this gas is processed one step further then it can be

converted into DIESEL. This Coal gas can also be converted into fertilizers, plastic, methane gas

.Using this technology South Africa is producing 160000 barrels of diesel a day. In the same

way, we can produce 100 million barrels of oil per annum. Dr Samar said that power generation

from coal is fifty percent cheap as compared to the produced through oil. The Thar project total

requires US 200 $. Recently, Government has signed an agreement for purchase of 5 Boeings

777 aircrafts. These aircrafts have been overpriced, each aircraft by $ 100 million. Foreign

investors are ready to invest but they asked fifty percent investment cost from the government of

Pakistan

Pakistan applied for a loan of 22 million from World Bank for the project which was straight

away refused without any reason given, while the same World Bank gave away 75 billion dollars

to South Africa for exactly the same project. The same World Bank and Asian Development

Bank gave away 850 million dollar to India for a similar project to be carried in Gujrat

(india). When these loans were being given to India and South Africa the "greatest friend" of

Pakistan - AMERICA did not give any oppose the aid to the two countries where as when

Pakistan applied for this little amount AMERICA strongly opposed it.It is very clear that

America does not want Pakistan to be economically stable. Unlimited resources are being used to

stop the THAR COAL project. The foreign aided NGOS, the traitors with in Pakistan who went

against the KALA BAGH DAM, The Rental Power plant agents, Oil Companies, International

Energy Sector Giants, Oil Importing Companies, India and America are doing their utmost

efforts to bring the project to a halt. Environmental Pollution is the cause they bring up to justify

their opposition against the project. Whereas this same environmental pollution could never

become a point of objection when the same projects were being carried out in South Africa and

India itself, nor was their appeal or loan rejected.

Our people strongly lack decision making power, we get diverted by others very easily all

because of the lack of knowledge, lack of interest and little motivation to serve our country. Let

the people, literate or illiterate, educated or uneducated, rich or poor know that how much this

project is worth! And what it can bring to us today and to our next generations. I do not even to

imagine the day when my children or their children will look me straight into eyes and ask me

that what you did to save us from the misery we are suffering today. It’s not electricity only or its

not gas or fuel people, it the future of this country, our children and us. It’s all about making this

country a better place to live, ending up hunger, misery, and struggle.
