Guided Reading, pre-reading and relatedactivities including comprehension during

the week.

Please spend 10 minutes each day reading with yourchild.

Please record all reading sessions in your child’s planner-this can be their home reader or any books/magazines they read at home.

Please ask your child to bring their reading book andplanner to school everyday.

We will change your child’s Collins Big Cat book once per week. Children have access to their class library throughout the week.

*English, maths and spellings are set on a weekly basis.

*Spellings will be tested once a fortnight in a dictation.

*Homework will link to topics that have been covered in class.

*All homework is provided on a Thursday and needs to be returned on a Monday.

•Whole school approach to behaviour.•Start of week all children are on green.•If a child is spotted doing something goodthen they are praised and moved up to silver orgold. •If school rules are broken then they are moved down the zone board.•If someone ends up in red there is an immediate consequence – time out in another classroom or a visit to a senior member of staff.•At the end of the week children on Amber or Red, will miss part or all of their Golden Time. •If someone decides to co-operate with the rules they can see their name go back up the board via amber to green.

*Children who stay in green, silver or gold are rewarded at the end of the week with 30 minutes golden time.*Children who are consistently in gold or silver will receive a congratulatory certificate each half term.*All names will return to green at the start of each new week.

the office

*Children need a named bottle with water in it, please fill this before the children come into school.

*Please do not allow your child to come into school wearing jewellery, except for a simple watch

Swimming is a National Curriculum Requirement-children will be assessed against the national standardThey will receive certificates as they progress through the stagesAll children will have 2 terms worth of swimming.Girls need a swimming cap and should tie their hair up.Boys should not wear long Bermuda style swimming shorts, trunks are bestPlease ensure children can dress themselves independentlyPlease ensure all clothes are named

You can send messages in children’s planners.
