Seales School of Music & Performing Arts holds
Annual Open House with Celebrity Reggae Superstar
"Luciano"
Overview
St. George's, Grenada: - Monday May 28th marked another milestone in the promotion and development of music education in Grenada, when a nonprofit music school, www.sealesmusic.com, hosted Jamaican Reggae Superstar Luciano at an Annual Open House for students, parents and supporters.
The event started with a free music workshop. Opening remarks and introduction to the workshop were made by Mr. Pianki Toussaint and Ms Donnayln Watson respectively. After brief remarks were made by Dj Ice Cool and Mr. Kendell Weeks, tutor affiliated with the music school who was visiting from London, our Jamaican Reggae star Luciano gave his lyrical and educational speech. His great words to the young people was that they should always occupy themselves with music and don’t sit down idly. He told a tale of when he was 10 years old, that he and his dad made a guitar together and after finishing that guitar, his dad didn’t want him to touch it as he didn’t know much about it and he would always burst the stings. He said from that said age he started playing music and he had much passion for it.
The workshop ended with Luciano giving the audience a taste of his guitar
playing skills, oh what lovely music to the ears. During and after the workshop, at the café, there was live music being played by the band Illusion. There and then the bar was opened to serve drinks and refreshments were served and the live melodious tunes from the band Illusion was played for enjoyment and leisure.
