LKaya Enigma - How did they do it?
Insidious opening sequence
Mysterious observerThey show a point of view of someone walking around the house at night with a shadowed hint on the window
Mysterious/scary reflectionThey show a refection of the female making the audience want to know who she is and why she is there at night watching over people
Credits and shotsDuring the credits they show shots of things for example the inside of the house making the audience watch more in why these are significant and the titles because they portray ghost like things making the audience want to see more about ghosts
Enigma
How are we creating enigma in our opening sequences…
• By not telling the audience why these girls are haunting this room so their audience will want to find out more
• The audience will want to watch more to see what relevance the dolls have to this closet/house and why they’re always coming back
• At the ending of the opening sequence we build a climax to a sudden shock/scare getting the audience excited to watch more
• Finally to see what happens to Laura in the closet and further of how the ghosts disturb her

• Since draft one we have improved greatly on how we can create enigma.
• We have gone through many ideas and various genres to create a very creative and versatile mind to what excited and interests our target audince
• By creating a questionnaire for our target audience to see what they find interesting and what they don’t
• Researching type of films and themes or concept grabs the audiences attention to watch more

throughout the film and interested of being scared.• The film is based in modern time and youth culture, use of slang in a closed narrative so they
can connect and relate to what they see in the film and leave thinking about the consequences

Overall most of them do enjoy watching thriller films as they like the thought of being scared. Also they find it interesting to see what the spirits will do next to the character in while film. Also none of our audience thought that our opening sequence was complicated and they liked our theme concept. However some said that would like us to film in the dark.
Summary of what our target audience said M

Characters How have you developed your characters since draft 1?
• We developed our character to be less dark and a lot more relatable to a wider range of our target audience
• We made the character one age rather than a variety so its less confusing
• The clown and doll have been developed into a spiritual characters who rather than look like the dolls to 2 girls with a doll and clown toys.
