Analysis of the front coverAnalysis of the front cover The title is red which can connote blood and

danger whereas the rest of the title is black

which can connote. death

The title itself suggests strength

behind the words as here I stand is a bold

statement and can present the artist as a

confident and bold. character

T hrough this the image anchors the

title and this increases the strength

.displayed

The red font colour of the

title may also represent

. passion This can therefore lead to sex

appeal to ladies as genuinely

Usher is known for being

passionate in . love and music This gives the

general idea that his songs

are about love and passion

Analysis of the front Analysis of the front cover .2cover .2

, The background is dull and misty it shows that the music has no general happy theme to it and this therefore can represent the atmosphere of his songs as mystery or realism

The car also suggests

wealth as this is typical of

RNB artists to show off their

. wealth The image of wealth is also

supported through

' Usher s costume and

heavy jewellery which creates

the image of rich and

.desirable

The car suggests ; he travelled this

portrays him as being confident to travel on his own

this supports the title and it also

suggests that he lives life on the. edge The car is black which may

represent death and the fact that it

looks like he owns the car suggests he has no fear

Analysis of the front Analysis of the front cover .3cover .3

His clothes are fully black and quite stylish as

. well Black is normally what

RNB artists wear during their songs so

this tells us the genre of his. music

Props that are used are the sunglasses and the bear tooth

. necklace The sunglasses conceal

his eyes which again reinforces the image of him being

. mysterious The bear tooth necklace

suggests again he is wild and lives life on

.the edge

Analysis of the back coverAnalysis of the back cover

The red banner on the side connotes blood and this can be clearly seen through the smudge effects used on the design.

Red can connote blood and in this album red is used a lot this may portray the artist in a dangerous and bloodthirsty manner.

The artist is entering the car this shows he owns an expensive car thus supporting the view of him being wealthy.

He seems to be looking to the right which may mean he is being cautious of something and on the cover to the right is full of red which can connote danger approaching

In the red banner the title is written in a different colour. USHER HERE I is now written in white which is in contrast with STAND as it is in black. White can also connote new life which means he may have been reborn.
