BASICS

Successful film openings make the viewer want to know more about the film. As films last usually over an hour and a half, the opening must be eye catching and pull the viewer in. Normally the film openings have credits on, including the main producers and big stars of the film. The credits are usually show on a black screen but sometimes on top of action which happens in the film

The first openings were made in the 1970’s. Until the 70’s all the credits were at the start of the film. Marry Poppins was one of the first films to have longer end credits and shorter opening credits.

EXAMPLE• Means girls have a fast opening, it shows all the

main characters but also all the best parts of the film but does not show the story line. Its not got non dietetic music, the music is fast and loud but in time with all the clips.
