• X wrote and recorded “_______" as a blues tune in the studio while finishing his third album. The album became widely successful, even outside of his largely R&B and blues fan base. When released in the summer of 1965, the song reached the top five on Billboard's Black Singles Chart, and crossed over to pop radio's white audience, peaking at number thirty-five there. At the time, the song became X's second largest crossover hit (after "I've Been Loving You Too Long") and paved the way to future presence at American radio.
• Producer Jerry Wexler brought _______ to Y’s attention. While X's version was popular among his core R&B audience, Wexler thought the song had potential to be a crossover hit and to demonstrate Y's vocal ability. _______ was recorded on February 14, 1967 with Y's sisters, Carolyn and Erma, singing backup. This version proved so successful that X was to later remark to Wexler, “Y done stole my song”. ID X, Y, fill in the blanks.

• In his autobiography, A reveals that at his prep school, he was referred to by several nicknames, all of which he hated – Young ___, ___ Minor, ___ The Younger, ___ Secundus, and, worst of all, Small ___. All this led to a severe hatred of nicknames, and it was only some twenty years later that he was referred to by anything other than his name – to wit, “M’colleague” – by his long-time comedic partner and friend B. A and B starred in a TV show C which was seen by many as a natural successor to D, a much more famous and critically acclaimed show. C’s run ended in 1995, and A and B were not seen regularly on prime-time television until well into the new millennium, when A got a job as the host of E, in my opinion the best TV quiz show ever, and B snagged the leading role in F, a drama that borrows heavily from the G canon. E was co-created by H, a BBC stalwart, who was also the co-author, along with I, of two books J and K. In the combined length of J and K, some of the instances in which India feature are “Anantnag (vb): (Eskimo term) to bang your thumbs between oars while rowing”, :Calicut (adj): determined not to let someone see how much their inadvertent remark has hurt you”, and “Poona (n): satisfied grunting noise made when sitting back after a good meal”.
• The series F, has also featured both L and M, a pair of actors most famous for their roles in the buddy movie N and its recent sequel. L played a cameo in season 1 of F. M has a permanent role in F, which commenced from season 4. M also played a villain in the highly-anticipated superhero movie O, which was directed by P, the executive producer of F. P was chosen to direct O mostly because of the excellent job he did directing the first two Q movies, in which almost everyone has a nickname.
