My Music Magazine Pitch
In This Presentation.. This PowerPoint is to help me create and narrow down the options for my music magazine, I have thought of some options that could be included but please feel freeto contribute and help me try to make this magazine the best it can be. Any ideasplease bring forward. I will show you the type of fonts that I like, the photos I like andsome names I've thought of, for the magazine to be called.
The idea I have thought of is to make the magazine a multi genre magazine which isclean and fresh and aimed towards most genres and age groups mainly the youngpeople. I like the thought of a settle calm approach to the market. Please make sureto tell me all your idea, big and small, because everything will help!
My Idea..
GenreI have decided I want my magazine to include a part for everyone to enjoy. A
multi genremagazine, which will include, Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, Indie, Soul, Dance and
Jazz/Swing. I didthis because if I was to choose one genre, some genres go out of date and the
magazine wouldnot be selling. But if I was to include many different genres and one was not so
popular then Iwould be able to not include so much about that genre. What I would like to
know is somegenres you think are most popular and interesting and some story lines I could
write about, maybe to a specific genre group. The genre is really important when creating
a new musicmagazine, this is what the whole magazine will be featured on.
Target AudienceMy ideal target audience are people who are rather young, from the trendy, indie, townie stereotyped group. Ages 14-28 who are really interested in music and are thinking of perusing it further into their career, people that take music courses at university or trying to jump start their career in the music industry. So mainly people who dream to be an artist one day. Also Uni students as study hard but also go out and have a good time and this is the target market I really want to aim towards, older teenagers/young adults who just want to have a good time, party and enjoy life. The magazine will also be available to people who enjoy music but don't want to peruse it. Just people who are into all aspects of music really. As I want to make a multi-genre magazine it’s going to include a variety of music and different aspects of each genre. But as its mainly aimed for Uni students, its got to be fresh and trendy, so has to include gigs near by, events, concerts and places hiring for students to perform to get experience. There isn't a magazine in the market like this and I strongly think Uni students will really enjoy reading this magazine as this may start their future in music. But its not just for university students so will have to include a bit for the younger people who enjoy listening and hearing the latest gossip on music and the artists they adore.

My USPMy unique selling point idea is that all UK Uni students get the first 25 issues of my magazine for free. This idea would really boost the name of the magazine and the ones that enjoy the magazine would keep buying. For the people who are willing to buy the magazine but don’t attend university would pay half price for the first issue and if they like the magazine they would purchase the magazine full price anytime after.
Do You Have Any Suggestions?
