TV (ANIME)

• In Japan, Pokemon was a huge first hit.• It went on from 1995-1997 in Japan, called ‘Pocket

Monsters’ (the Japanese name, of course)• But, the series sort-of collapsed in Japan, and 4KIDS TV,

a station made for kids, took over the show in 1998

Games

• The first games came out in 1999. These were Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, (and in Japan: Green) These games were called (1st Gen)

• Later on, came Gold, Silver, and more revised version of the two, Crystal (2nd Gen)

• In 2003, Ruby, Sapphire, and (like what Crystal was to Gold/Silver) Emerald came along shortly after

• Then in 2004, FireRed and LeafGreen came out in America, remakes of the first games (3rd Gen)

• 2006, Nintendo/GameFreak output a new game Pokemon Diamond & Pearl (Later in 2008 Pokemon Platinum came out, similar to Diamond/Pearl)

• On March 14th 2010, Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver (you guessed it, remakes of original Gold/Silver) were introduced.
