In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

This still image from our thriller opening uses a convention found in many mainstream thrillers. This is, a complex narrative structure, with false paths, clues and resolutions. This still is showing when Nate starts to remember what he witnessed all them years ago, this is when he witnessed his mother being attacked by a man still not convicted for his

crime. This still shows that a clue has been given to the audience that Nate has started to remember what he saw. This is convention used in many thrillers. This is developing the convention as this is giving the audience clues to his memories of what he saw that day.

This is using the convention to keep the audience interested in the thriller opening so the want to watch the rest of the film to find out if they discover who the attacker is and

why he targeted Nate’s mum.

This still image form our opening use the convention, a narrative pattern of establishing enigmas, which the viewer expects to be resolved. These dolls are a reference to time, which the audience is expected to find out. There are references to time as the crime witch Nate witnessed was in the past along time ago. This is challenging the convention, as the audience do not find

out in the story that these are a reference to time but I left to discover this themselves.

The dim lighting in this shot starts to play with audience emotions they start to become nervous of what is going to happen next, the start to think that Nate might be in danger witch leads them to be confused until the see what he saw all them years ago.

This is shot from the begging of the conversation between Nate and Lucas. The convention used in this is camera angles, this convention is used in every single film. This over the shoulder shot shows that Nate’s in a bad place right now has he is in the building where he witnessed a violent attack on his mother.

this is a screen shot of Nate when he has flash back of what he saw that day. This convention is flashback which appear a lot in thrillers, this is why we choose to this convention this is using the convention as we had seen this many times before on thriller films .

even some classic thrillers incorporated this convention in there thriller 30 years ago.
