Sponsorship Invitation
SYNC is a new two-year programme for the cultural sector in Scotland – all about making, prototyping and innovation in the space where culture, technology and design meet
SYNC is a core element of Creative Scotland’s Cultural Economy strategy and consists of the landmark Culture Hack Scotland event, a Geeks-in-Residence programme and SyncTank the future-facing online magazine.
Culture Hack Scotland is a fast-paced and highly creative event which challenges designers and technologists to make innovative new culture-related projects in just 24 hours.
The inaugural CHS in Spring 2011 was considered the most productive event of its type ever held. The 2012 and 2013 events will build on this remarkable momentum and will be the annual showpiece celebration of culture vs digital.
Being part of Culture Hack Scotland helped us define our approach to innovation and has given us access to a like-minded and influential community of culture, design and digital professionals
//Head of Digital Media, National Museum of Scotland
The Edinburgh International Book Festival’s world class mobile site is based on a Culture Hack Scotland prototype
The beautiful data visualisation festivalsclock.com started as a Culture Hack Scotland project
festafriend, another Culture Hack Scotland prototype became the talk of the Edinburgh Festival
Culture Hack Scotland 2012 will be held in Glasgow in April at the stunning SocietyM
Centrally located just 5 minutes from Glasgow Queen Street, this creative workspace will be inspiring for all involved
Through the Geeks-in-Residence programme five Scottish cultural organisations are matched with digital & design talent and together they co-create a project which tests a new way of working for that organisation.
These engagements will allow cultural practitioners and organisations to work with digital & design talent in a way that in genuinely valuable and genuinely collaborative.
Written for cultural professionals, SyncTank is a pop-up magazine and podcast that showcases the freshest thinking of how digital is enabling, inspiring and changing our cultural practice and experiences.
Launching in June as an online magazine, PDF and podcast Sync Tank will contain features, interview, insight & practical advice on looking and moving forward.
