We are presenting by means of orthophoto map a number of selected brownfields in contact with the river Danube, which are located in urban area of the capital city of Bratislava. Selected views are representing contemporary, recent condition of the areas. Depending on how the sites were used in the past, they are industrial, transportational, residential and recreational. Some of these localities did not lose their previous function. The negative impact on the aesthetics of their surroundings and the river Danube, its riverbanks are quite noticeable. Given orthophoto map thus offers interesting view on the distribution of brownfields in the areas connected with river Danube. This reveals the role of the river in connection to the city in the past, as well as insufficient utilization of potention of Danube by Bratislava in the present.
