Commercial Area (Sports Centre)

Introduction

Consists of 5 floor including car park (basement, ground

floor, 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor)

Basement consist of car park

Ground floor consist lobby, merchandise shop, cafeteria

1st floor consist of badminton court

2nd floor consist of gym room

3rd floor consist of swimming pool and sauna room

There are also a pocket garden that consist of a small

playground and a pond

Concept

Aim

To build a sport centre not only because of money or cash

foundation benefits to build up the building. It is mainly aim for

the convenience and healthy of residences in town.

Commercial Area

It is a sport centre building. The centre needs maintenance fees

and operation fees. It cause the centre have to charge monthly

or yearly fees to the members. But it wouldn’t cost much for

members.

Target People

Benefits

Have a comfortable sport centre for residence to work out

there.

Completed sport equipment and other facilities.

A relaxing area for visitors which is pocket garden right

next to the building.

Rationale Basement, Ground floor and 1st

floor

The basement is car park. There are car park in basement

is because there are not enough land to construct a car pouch

outside the building. There are also some benefits to build a car

park in basement. First, frees up valuable land for other uses.

Second, “Ugly car park” do not spoiled the historical landscape.

Lastly, it can allow one to build close to existing building.

The ground floor consists of lobby, main entrance,

merchandise shop and a cafeteria. The merchandise shop is

selling the sport stuff. For example, badminton equipment,

swimming suit, gym equipment. The lobby has a reception

which is provide some service. The cafeteria serves member

and non member.

The 1st floor is a badminton court. There are limit space to

build more court. The floor provides toilet and locker. The

badminton court has to advance booking.

. Master plan

The building occupies more spaces. There is only a driveway for

the car to pass by or enter to basement car park. Next to the

building has a pocket garden that is consist with a small pond

and playground. There are also some plant and bushes

available in the site.

Mainly materials used in the buildings

Basement- A waterproofing underground car parks.

concrete is the favoured construction material for underground

car-parks, Vandex Super usually offers the most cost-effective

water-proofing solution, however, Vandex BB75 can also be used.

On floor areas, Vandex Unimortar 2 can be used to provide a

combined waterproofing and trafficable surface.
