What does embed mean in blogspeak ?

Embedding means to place or copy content from its original website onto a different site using an html code or "embed code."

For example “Sharable video” is video that is hosted on one domain but plays on the page of another domain.

In this way it is possible to display content on your blog without needing to download or upload using the media library.

To embed an object it is first necessary to locate the embed code.

When content is designed for sharing the embed code is usually prominently displayed.

There may be a tab which says SHARE and the html is an option within that .

Here’s a useful presentation on slideshare and here is where to look for the embed code

Click on the customize menu.

Select the desired dimensions and use the old embed code. This is important new embed code usually won’t work with blogED as it often uses iframes or java script which is incompatible with the blogED platform

Navigate to your blog and click on the create post menu option.

Give your post a name

Select and click on the HTML button.

Paste the copied embed code here and click the update button

Define categories and add tags before clicking the publish button.

The slideshow will now appear embedded in you blog.
