Turkey is one of the few nations in the world

where all four seasons can be experienced

- from summer on the Mediterranean, to

winter in the rugged Kackar Mountains, to

fall on the Black Sea Coast, to spring on

the shores of the Dardanelles.

This climatological diversity brings with it

a similar diversity in Turkey’s flora. Rolling

plains, alpine meadows and tens of

thousands of hectares of forests are home

to over 9,500 species of plant.

Of these, a full 35% are found only in

Turkey and another 40 new species are

discovered every year.

Moreover, hundreds of the plant species

found in Turkey are of medical value and

are exported to markets around the world.

And the honey produced from this treasure

trove of wildflowers, medicinal plants and

stately conifers is, naturally, among the

finest in the world…

The 5,000 square meters plant is

located on 28,000 square meters of

land, and ranks among the largest in

Europe.

Balparmak is Turkey’s largest honey

processor, and its processing capacity

is so large that it is equivalent to the

total quantity of packaged honey sold

ele alm›fl, analiz laboratuvar›n›, sürekli,

uluslararas› standartlar› gözeterek yenilemifl,

gelifltirmifltir.

Balparmak Ar-Ge ve Kalite Güvence Departman›

bünyesindeki Bal Analiz Laboratuvar›nda,

kapsaml› ve hassas analizler yap›labilmekte;

tüketici için birincil öneme sahip duyusal analizler,

uzmanlarca yap›lan tad›m testleri ile

gerçeklefltirilmektedir.

Öte yandan, bal›n kalitesini belirleyen nem, HMF,

diastaz aktivitesi, asitlik tayini gibi analizlerin

yan›s›ra, yüksek performansl› kromatografik

cihazlarla bal›n fleker profili de ç›kar›labilmektedir.

Laboratuvar, genifl kal›nt› analizi yapabilme

olanaklar› sayesinde, naftalin, antibiyotik ve

pestisitleri, en düflük miktarlarda dahi, hassas

biçimde tespit özelli€ine sahiptir.

As a result of the emphasis it places on quality,

consumer health and safety, since its founding,

Balparmak has made honey analysis a top priority.

The Balparmak Honey Analysis Laboratory leads the

way, staying at the forefront of international technology

and techniques.

Established as part of the Balparmak Research &

Development and Quality Assurance Department, the

Honey Analysis Laboratory conducts a wide range of

highly detailed and precise tests. From a consumer’s

point of view, perhaps the most important of these

are sensory analyses, a series of demanding taste

tests performed by experts.

In addition, a range of other tests are conducted to

determine the technical factors that are proof of honey’s

quality, such as water content, HMF

(HydroxyMethylFurfuraldehyde), diastase number and

level of acidity, while high performance chromatographs

are used to determine the sugar structure of the honey.

The laboratory can also conduct very precise residue

analyses, which make it possible to detect even trace

amounts of naphthalene, antibiotics and pesticides.

Along with these other tests, the Balparmak Laboratories

also conduct routine microbiological hygiene tests and are

able to determine the type and origin of honey as well.

Balparmak, 1994’te Paris’te, 1995’te Madrid’de,

2007’de Roma’da Avrupa Kalite Ödülü’nü; yine 2007’de
