Randal Eastman [email protected] +86 13671989111
Project Summary
• Background • In October 2014 Mac Millar asked Rotary Shanghai
President Frank Yih if he could send footballs to North Korea (DPRK).
• Past President Randal Eastman of the same club told him yes – and this project was born to send 200 footballs and uniforms to orphanages and schools for orphans in DPRK.
• 10 years earlier two boys from the DPRK (one who loved soccer) were brought to Shanghai for life saving heart surgery in the Shanghai Chest Hospital.
• From 2012-14 ShelterBox has distributed shelter aid to families who lost homes from flooding and typhoons in the DPRK 2

• The Mission • From 11-18 August 2015 PP Randal led a
delegation of Rotarians and partners to Pyongyang to: • Follow up distribution of the footballs and
uniforms • Reunite with the two heart patients • Inspect recent ShelterBox deployments • Identify other follow-on Rotary service project
opportunities
